BACK TO BACK BUSY WEEKENDS!!!

Good evening Empire Volleyball Followers!!!

Its is Wednesday night December 14, 2011- and her is what is happening with the members of Empire volleyball Club...

Early, Saturday, December 10, 2011: VBLI Hostos, Bronx, NY

Lenny K, and Erik S, teamed up with some ladies to play in a VBLI "AA" Co-ed tournament at Hostos Community College, in the Bronx New York. Their team played well and came out of pool play with a  6-2 record. That record, gave their team a third place seeding and shot in playoffs.

The playoffs were a rousing bit of fun, but the two men and their team ended up losing to the eventual champions, 2-1. "We took Mitsuyo's team to a third set Patrick, but you know how they are when they are focused." The team did take some solace in knowing they were the better of the match for the champs. Mitsuyo's team wiped the floor with #2 seeds in straight sets.

"The chemistry of our guys and people that play with is us is just growing, Patrick. Erik's comfort level is up there, you should have seen how he was hitting!" stated Lenny. In this writers humble opinion, I have a feeling January 14, 2012 maybe the EVC-Prime breakout party for Erik.

We'll just have to see.

Midday Saturday December 10, 2011: Downstate Athletic Center, Peekskill, NY

EVC Members Patrick D and Kevin S participated in one of DAC's Midday to Midnight volleyball tournaments. There were many teams there from all over the New York Metro and Connecticut areas. Patrick teamed with one VBLI Women's club team member and a former college teammate, while Kevin teamed up with two members from the VBLI Women's club team and some of his old college club teammates.

As the day drew to a close, and the night settled in, both of the teams moved into playoff position. Kevin's team having a better overall record, was the #1 seed off of his net, #2 over all in the tournament, while Patrick's team finished in third off his net and #4 overall.

Patrick's team was ousted in the second round of playoffs as Kevin's team lost to the eventual champions in the semi-finals.

All in all it was a pretty good weekend for each member of EVC, who played this past weekend.
